I got this scooter for my 13th birthday 4 months ago. It is pretty easy to assemble it. Once you have it up and running it is a lot of fun. However the scooter did not come with fuses, so I emailed x-treme scooters and they sent one to me within days. Another problem I encountered was that after pulling the pull start a few dozen times it doesn't retract into the unit so again I emaied x-treme scooters and the sent a replacement within days. The pull start broke again but I just gave up with it and used the electric start which works fine. I have a flat tire (the rear tire) but I do not think it is the conpanies fault I think I Used off-road to much. Remember to get the extended warrenty (3 months $29.99) because if parts go bad they will happily replace it. The scooter probably does 23-28mph depending on your weight. The mileage isn't that great, you really only get about 15mpg, but if you just ride it around the neighborhood that really won't be a problem.
The speedometer is pretty much useless because it doesn't say your speed only the percent of full speed you are going. The horn, lights, turn signals and brake lights all work great. however the left handbrake doesn't do anything besides turn on the break light so to stop you have to use the right handbrake. In a way that is good because if you are riding at night (which I would not recommmend) you can just hold down the left brake and the brake light will stay on while the scooter is going full speed.
The acceleration is not that good, I raced my friends go-ped and his accelerated much faster but the top speed is better on mine.
Overall I would recommend this tov anyone who wants a gas scooter but does want to spend $750.00 on a go-ped or a moped. This may not be the best scooter in the world but for $279.99 it is definetly a great value
