Go-Ped Gas Powered Full Suspension 4-Wheeled Trail Ripper Quad Review

Go-Ped Gas Powered Full Suspension 4-Wheeled Trail Ripper QuadAbsolutely great! Kids loved it and worked out what to do in about 10 minutes. Easy to build and seems pretty strong. Only problem we've had is the inlet manifold (plastic I think) cracked making it unuseable, probably just a fult in the plastic. Waiting for Go-Ped customer support to reply though.

The Go-Ped Story
Beginning in 1985, Steve Patmont, his wife Hannelore, and two sons Gabe and Tim launched Patmont Motor Werks, creators of the Go-Ped Brand of original folding motorized scooters. They began by building Go-Peds in their Pleasanton California garage for friends and family that just had to have one and it blossomed from there. Knowing the market opportunities were endless for their fun and safe, carefree design, the Patmont family secured a patent and began shopping their invention around to purveyors of yachts and personal aircraft as a light and portable alternative transportation device to extend transportation choices for various commuting and recreation uses.
The Patmont family introduced the patented Cantilevered Independent Dynamic Linkless Indispension (C.I.D.L.I.) in 2005. This revolutionary yet simple and extremely effective suspension system redefined the portable transportation market once again. Off-road enthusiasts and those simply wishing for a more comfortable ride can also experience the amazing benefits of these practical and portable Gopeds.
Today Patmont Motor Werks is the world leader in personal transportation and proudly produces the world's finest portable transportation devices out of it's "enlarged garage," a 70,000 square foot state-of-the-art production facility in Minden, Nevada. The Patmont family has kept PMW strong by constantly innovating new and improved products. In addition to an excellent selection of scooters and carts, the introduction of the ESR750 pure electric GoPed scooter line in 2003 offers a zero emission, environmentally-friendly transportation device for those wishing to reduce climate change, their carbon footprint, beat the rising prices of fossil fuel, and foreign oil dependence.

Go-Ped ESR750EX Electric Powered City Scooter (Multiple Colors) Review

Go-Ped ESR750EX Electric Powered City Scooter"Is it heavy?"

"Yes."

"Then put it down, it's expensive."

Yes, this scooter is heavy. And yeah, it's expensive. But it's worth it. I have a gas model as well, but it's far too noisy to ride at night.I can cruise up and down the street on this at 3 AM, and not bother a soul.

The front disc brake is incredibly responsive.I've already had to perform a few "emergency stops," and the brake worked just fine.I weigh 220 lbs, and this scooter doesn't seem to be straining to move or stop me, which I like.

Another reviewer mentioned that this scooter seems like something that someone would build in their backyard.I completely disagree with that statement. This has a solid frame, folding handlebars (which allow you to carry the scooter like a suitcase), a motor that will propel you to 20 mph (18 or 19 if you're my weight), mechanical disc brake that actually WORKS, and the throttle has three indicator LEDs to let you know the status of your batteries.

This is not a thrown-together garage project. This is a finely crafted (in the USA), well-finished product.Oh, and Go-Ped's customer service is absolutely top notch. If something's wrong, they'll make it right.

Product Description:
Whether you're looking for a more energy-efficient way to cruise the neighborhood or you just love yourself a little scooter style, the Go-Ped ESR750EX electric scooter is an ideal choice. The 2008 version of the city scooter includes a host of improvements over earlier incarnations, including an innovative self-adjusting chain tensioner, significantly thicker and more powerful rare Earth magnets, and a higher rpm operation to improve efficiency. Add these improvements to the original design--which won the 2004 Electric Scooter of the Year award from Electric Scooter World--and you have a terrific long-range scooter for both adults and kids.
The scooter owes its powerful performance to its ESR engine, which is equipped with a robust and well-proven DC brush-type motor with an "Electro Head" finned heat sink. The motor is capable of producing more than 1 horsepower in continuous operation and reaching top speeds of more than 20 miles per hour (in Turbo mode), with thrilling levels of acceleration. The high output also helps the scooter tackle steep hills with ease--a rarity among many electric scooters. The auto-adjusting chain tensioner, meanwhile, incorporates a longer, spring-loaded slot with consistent yet gentle slack elimination to effortlessly stop chain derailments. In the process, the chain adjuster accommodates greater chain "slactitudes" commonly found with various sprocket combinations and changing chain conditions.
From a purely functional perspective, the ESR750EX offers two performance modes and an electronic controller. The rider can choose the Econo mode to go twice as far, half as fast (12 miles per hour), or select the Turbo mode to reach speeds of 20-plus miles per hour. The Turbo mode offers a range of roughly eight miles per charge, while the Econo mode checks in at roughly 12-plus miles. Once you arrive at your destination, simply plug the scooter into any 110-volt or 220-volt household power outlet and its onboard "smart charger" will take over. The ESR750EX is also equipped with a computerized, programmable variable-speed controller. With a wide variety of EPROM (Eraseable Programmable Read Only Memory) functions, the controller gives the user the freedom to do not only onboard diagnostics, but also customize performance.
Other features include an aircraft-quality Chromyl frame, a patented cantilevered Chromyl fork, pneumatic 10-inch TT tires, magnesium rims, and a Mad Dog disc braking system. And at only 59 pounds, the ESR750EX still offers the best range-to-weight ratio of any electric scooter in the world. Equipped with a folding frame for easy transport and storage, the ESR750EX measures 48 by 41 by 18 inches (W x H x D) and offers a weight capacity of 400 pounds.

The ESR750EX electric scooter reaches speeds of 20-plus miles per hour in Turbo mode. Specifications:

Motor: 24V Brush D/C with aluminum heat sink
Maximum Speed: 20 miles per hour (turbo mode)
Dual Performance: Turbo and economy Modes
Batteries (4) 12V SLA (sealed lead acid)
    11Ah @ 10hr rate, 6Ah @ 15min rate
Power Controller: Advanced computerized and programmable variable speed controller
Charger On board smart charger 110v-240v capability
Range Econo Mode: 12+ miles / Turbo Mode: 8 miles
    Transmission: Chain drive
Assembled Dimensions: 48 inches long by 18 inches wide by 41 inches tall
Folded Dimensions: 48 inches long by 18 inches wide by 17 inches tall
    Weight: 59 pounds
    Maximum Load: 400 pounds
    Frame: Aircraft-quality 4130 Chromyl frame
Fork: Patented cantilevered aircraft-quality 4130 Chromyl fork
    Handlebar: 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum
    Tires: Pneumatic 10" TT
    Rims: Magnesium
Front Brake: Mad Dog disc braking system
Folding: Effortless folding feature for easy storage and carrying
    Heavy duty rear axle

Go-Ped ESR750H Hoverboard Electric Powered City Scooter Review

Go-Ped ESR750H Hoverboard Electric Powered City ScooterWe bought two of these scooters from Amazon for Christmas and had them shipped to Maui, where they arrived in perfect condition in 3 days, well before we did.Friends here took them boxed to a local bike shop which assembled and charged them for about $100, and the bike guys were raving by the time we picked them up, because we asked them to try them out and let us know what they thought. We are a family of four, two boys 13 and 16, and two adults. The scooters have absolutely no problems, and they are incredibly fun and easy to ride, from the first time out.Their chunky tires and awesome suspension makes it smooth and stress free even for me the mom, they are narrow enough to take on sidewalks without getting dirty looks from pedestrians, they also ride easily and smoothly on grass if you need to pass a people-cluster on a sidewalk or take a shortcut, they have plenty of power to go up the steepest hills (only once I have had to switch from Economy to Turbo setting to get it up the steepest with my 140 pounds, but that allowed it to SAIL up), and after two hours of tooling around, we find we are still on the green light that means fully charged.I have no idea how long we would have to go for it to run out of battery, but it is clear that it can go farther than we can.We do not have any of the chain noises we read about in the other reviews, so I think that is a function of getting a bike shop to make proper adjustments. So many people stop us to ask where to buy or rent them that it is ridiculous, but gratifying. We have not found a single drawback to these scooters, which are sturdy, clearly made for adults and so fine for a bigger kid too, not slow but not too fast either, smooth start up with no initial jerk of acceleration like our electric Vespa-like thing had, easy and fun for anyone PLUS a very practical form of transportation to anywhere you could ride a bike to, and of course, NO GAS COSTS or inconvenience.Oh yeah, and Amazon's price and shipping costs far and away beat any other source we found.

GoPed raises the bar of its own high quality and design standards with the zero-emission GoPed ESR750H Hoverboard electric scooter. X-Treme Scooters X-600 High Performance Electric Scooter Review

X-Treme Scooters X-600 High Performance Electric ScooterI purchased this scooter as an upgrade from a Razor E300.I was impressed with the suspension system, but thats where it ended. After several modifications I can now say that I thoroughly enjoy and rely daily on this scooter. Some of the components on this scooter are so inadequate that they should never have been installed in the first place.First of all the drive wheel does NOT have a fly wheel clutch, so when you release the throttle instead of coasting you immediately and abruptly begin to slow down.As a result you use more battery power and your charge does not last as long.Secondly, the brakes on this scooter while looking impressive are inadequate.Thirdly, the recharging jack and recharger are very tempermental. If you intend to buy this scooter here are the steps you can take to improve its functionality and your enjoyment. All of the parts added and changed were from a Razor E300.First remove the rear tire, chain and brake assembly from the Razor (and get 5/16th flat washers). Then (for ease of installation remove the plastic cover) from the Xtreme scooter remove the wheel, chain, and brake. The brake cable can be installed into the brake from the razor, use the washers to center the wheel on the axle and ensure that the chain is perfectly straight from the motor to the gears. You must drill a hole through the frame of the Xtreme scooter through to the brake housing hole from the Razor.A 1/4 stove bolt, lock washer, 1/4 flat washers and nylon lock nut work perfectly. The front brake on the Xtreme can be removed it's NOT needed. Remember to remove the brake cable and hand control as well. The charger plug and charging jack for the Xtreme are crap as well. The Jack from the Razor is easily installed into the body of the Xtreme just below the existing jack, just drill a new hole and solder the connections. All I did for the plug was cut the old plug off the razor charger and solder it onto the Xtreme chargers cord. These are the upgrades that mostly increased the usability of this scooter.I Have also added wheel covers front and aft to eliminate tire spray. The kickstand will probably break on you as it did for me but that is not a concern for me.One last thing the throttle broke after about two months and I installed a half grip throttle that I ordered. With the half grip I was able to use the old grip from the Razor that holds the valve extender inflation tool.If you choose to buy this scooter I'd say it's a good choice but be prepared to spend a bit more making it perfect. I can send pics of the upgrades to you just let me know.
I hope this has been helpful
